New Fishing Tips!
I will now be posting fishing relatively often. I also will be now leaving all of the tips up. Hope these help. Please comment if they do!
Weather - Cold Front
A cold front, calm and bright situations, an east wind, and a thunderstorm are weather conditions that usually mean poor fishing.
Night Launching and Loading.
Adding a clear set of fog lights to the rear of a truck will facilitate night launching and loading of gear into your boat.
Fish Fight
There is a simple rule to fighting large, strong fish, especiall on light tackle: when the fish pulls you DON'T; when the fish doesn't pull you DO.
STEADY MOVING
Jigs are meant to be crawled or hopped along the bottom, right? Not all the time. Some smallmouth anglers have found that bronzebacks feeding on minnows near structure are suckers for jigs cranked straight in like a spinnerbait, with no drops or twitches. Give it a try.
Sweat Bands in The Rain.
Wear sweat bands when it rains to keep water from running under the jacket of rain suits. Carry 2 sets of bands, so that you can change when 1 set gets soaked.
Hook Set
Hook setting calls for fast reflexes. When a fish hits the angler should react quickly, bringing the rod back and up sharply into the chest area.
Selecting A Fly Rod!
When selecting a fly rod make sure that the number of guides is greater than its length. Nine foot rod should have 10 guides. Also look for up locking reel seat to create a fighting butt for landing big fish!
Insure It All!
When insuring your boat be sure to have all of your tackle, rods and electronics covered for replacement should they ever get stolen.
Pack The Boat!
On your next fishing trip be sure you pack the boat the night before. When you launch the next day. Start your motor and go without delay.
Hook Maxim
Big hooks catch big fish. Small hooks catch small fish...AND big fish. Don't hesitate to try a much smaller hook than you are sued to. Small hooks can catch BIG fish!
