Shelled Corn V.S. Cracked Corn
I have always used shelled corn to feed the deer and know they love it! But the other day Mom got a bag on cracked accidentaly so I put it out and was wondering how much they like it compared to shelled?
Thanks in advance

always used shelled. no particlar reason, i'm sure cracked will get ate just the same. just seems like cracked doesn't hold up as well in rainy weather. just my opinion.

I dumped mine on the ground...
Wouldn't it just roll out in a bucket feeder?

we use 5" black plastic water drain pipe... just cut about a 5' section of it and zip tie it a tree far enough off the ground that as the corn or whatever gets eaten it is gravity fed... helps keep moisture and rain from getting it if you put a cap over the top end....
We always use shelled corn... I've found that if you use cracked 5x more will get eaten by birds than if its just shelled

just got a call from neighbor hour ago to come down, went and found out he shot 20lb wild boar piglet, they have been baiting them for a month or so, he was on 4 wheeler when he spooked 2 250lbers and probably 10 to 12 piglets. this is probably the 8th or 9th boar that has been killed within a mile of my house in the last 2 years.

Not too many of those running around here... I believe last year there was around a dozen sightings of them around champaign county just north of Urbana... My cousin claims to have them running through his property each spring off rt. 29, but IDK
I'd love to get out and hunt them though... nothing like fresh cracklins
